DENNY ABBEY FARMLAND MUSEUM

On Monday 7th, Monday 10th and Wednesday 13th October, children in

Years One and Two visited Denny Abbey Farmland Museum.

We took part in a range of activities to find out about the lives of those

living in our local area in the past.

We found out how materials can be changed when we made cottage

cheese, in the dairy.

We visited the village shop, where the shopkeeper weighed out all our goods

and talked to us about all the things she had in stock that we could buy.

We all had a fantastic time and learned lots of things that we didn't already know.

A big thank you to Jeremy, the Education Officer, and his

team for a wonderful day out!

We carefully examined at a variety of artifacts used in peoples' homes in the past

and tried to guess which jobs they were used for.

We all helped out on Victorian Wash day, using the dolly peg,

posser and mangle to clean the clothes.

We explored the 1940's Walnut Tree Cottage,(complete with outdoor privy),

and looked at the differences between it and our own, modern homes.
